Adult Safeguarding Specialist Nurse

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced, motivated and professional band 6 or above Level One Registered Adult Nurse to join our Adult Safeguarding team on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain new skills, knowledge and learning in a specialised and interesting area of practice. You will work alongside a small team of adult safeguarding nurses to deliver the core safeguarding service.
The ideal candidate must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and be able to demonstrate that you can manage sensitive and highly emotional situations with integrity and professionalism. You will be able to demonstrate that you can work effectively across all disciplines and services, and be able to approach challenging circumstances in a measured and non-judgmental manner. You will be expected to participate in multidisciplinary and multiagency meetings, and be able to maintain thorough and detailed safeguarding records. You will have an awareness of the legislative and best practice frameworks that underpin the safeguarding agenda, including domestic abuse, MCA and DoLS. You will have experience of leading and managing staff. You must have experience of managing complaints and patient safety incidents.
The primary focus of the role will be to support the effective delivery of the adult safeguarding service. You must have the ability to work both as part of a team and autonomously, and be able to manage your own workload. You must be committed to advocating for the rights of vulnerable people and act as a professional role model at all times. You must be willing and able to professionally challenge practice and to support the investigation of adult safeguarding enquiries. You must be able to attend, participate in and lead multidisciplinary and multiagency meetings. You must be willing and able to deliver teaching and education opportunities to all staff groups. You be must experienced in dealing with complaints and patient safety incidents.
In return we will offer you education and training, regular safeguarding supervision and continual support in a busy but relaxed environment. The post holder will provide a service across all sites and CMGs of the Trust. The post is full time Monday – Friday, and the successful candidate will need to work flexibly on occasions.
Applicants wishing to apply for this post must be a band 6 or above Level One Registered Nurse – Adults, with extensive and significant post registration experience caring for adults with complex needs in an acute healthcare setting, preferably in emergency or specialty medicine. Evidence of a genuine interest in adult safeguarding and professional development is essential.
