UK & Ireland Sales Manager

ABB Robotics is seeking a dynamic and driven sales professional to spearhead strategic growth in the eCommerce and logistics space. This is your opportunity to be at the forefront of cutting-edge robotics solutions, helping global and local businesses transform their operations with intelligent automation. As part of ABB’s Business Line Industries sales strategy, you’ll play a pivotal role in expanding our market presence and driving profitable growth as you develop, implement, and manage strategic account plans targeting key players in the eCommerce and logistics automation sector.
As an Account Manager within ABB Robotics, you’ll play a central role in driving growth and innovation in the automation of eCommerce and logistics—two of the most rapidly evolving industries. Reporting into the UK & Ireland organization and operating remotely, you’ll be responsible for both strategic account management and proactive business development, with a strong focus on delivering tailored automation solutions that meet the unique needs of end users.
You’ll lead the sales cycle from initial engagement through to closing, working closely with internal technical teams, marketing, and channel partners to ensure seamless delivery. Your role will involve negotiating specifications and pricing, preparing customer proposals, and maintaining accurate records in Salesforce CRM to support pipeline visibility and forecasting.
In addition to managing existing accounts, you’ll actively seek out new opportunities, identifying emerging trends and customer pain points that ABB’s robotics solutions can address. You’ll be expected to monitor project progress, resolve challenges swiftly, and maintain a strong understanding of customer financial health to mitigate risk and protect ABB’s commercial interests.
This is a role reporting into the UK & Ireland organisation, and home based.

Your Role and Responsibilities

- Drive Strategic Sales: Develop and execute account plans to grow ABB’s presence in the eCommerce and logistics automation sector, focusing on volume, mix, and profitability.
- Lead Business Development: Identify and engage new end users, uncover emerging opportunities, and position ABB as a trusted automation partner.
- Manage Customer Relationships: Build long-term partnerships by understanding customer needs, negotiating specifications and pricing, and ensuring high satisfaction.
- Coordinate Sales Activities: Collaborate across internal teams and channels to deliver seamless solutions, including working with indirect sales partners where needed.
- Oversee Project Pipeline: Monitor current and upcoming projects, manage opportunity tracking and visit reports in Salesforce CRM, and ensure timely follow-up.
- Mitigate Risk: Monitor client financial status, manage contractual and pricing risks, and report changes to relevant internal stakeholders.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a sales role, ideally within automation or robotics
- Proven track record of success in business development and strategic sales
- Experience in the eCommerce and/or logistics sectors
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills
- A strategic thinker with a proactive, results-driven mindset
- Familiarity with Salesforce CRM or similar tools
