Pinewood currently has an exciting opportunity for aspiring full stack software developers!

We are currently looking for final year students and recent graduates to join our software development program, starting in the summer of 2025. Based at our office at Birmingham Business Park, you'll be fully integrated into one of our talented development teams where you'll have the opportunity to develop your technical and commercial experience.

Here at Pinewood, we appreciate that students are the next generation of the workforce, so we invest in early careers in a big way. Working under the guidance of our experienced teams, you can expect to build your knowledge in the following areas:

  • ASP.Net core
  • Razor Pages
  • C#
  • HTML
  • CSS
  • JavaScript
  • SQL
  • Visual Studio
  • Web API
  • Unit testing
  • Git
  • Xamarin Forms

We offer lots of support and a structured learning plan to ensure you gain all the skills you need to succeed with us. So, what will your graduate scheme look like?

  • We will kickstart the scheme with an initial settling in period including a business induction and coding boot camp. You'll get to understand Pinewood's wider business, meet key people, and bring yourself up to speed on the technologies we use
  • You'll have a structured learning checklist to guide you through the graduate scheme which will assist you in monitoring your progress and ensure you are reaching your goals
  • You'll receive on the job training, peer-to-peer learning, and you'll have continuous support from a dedicated mentor
  • You'll also have access to Pluralsight

Requirements

We don't expect our graduates to know everything. We look for those with a passion for technology and programming, a strong team ethic and solid communication skills. If you are passionate about software development, and you have a genuine desire to learn and develop your skillset, we want to support you in achieving your goals.

We also look for:

  • A Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Software Development or something similar at a 2:1 or above.
  • An analytical mindset with solid problem-solving skills.
  • A positive can-do attitude, as well as the motivation to work hard and build upon your current skillset.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team. There will be an element of remote working with this role, so having the ability to keep yourself motivated and on-track is essential.
  • Any previous commercial experience, either via a placement or internship, is beneficial but not a necessity

Benefits

  • Continuous support and regular one-to-one meetings with a dedicated mentor
  • An opportunity to work on meaningful projects that will make a direct impact on our business, and that of our customers.
  • Long-term progression opportunities and career planning - we will review your development, professional achievements and your career goals near the end of your 12- month scheme.
  • A starting salary of £35,000 per annum
  • 25 days holiday + all UK bank holidays
  • Flexible hybrid working
  • Free access to our onsite gym
  • Access to Pluralsight
  • Regular social events
