About The Role

Hours: 21 hours per week Contract: Fixed Term contract for 2 years

We are seeking a motivated Solicitor to join our small, in-house Legal Services team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified legal professional to provide high-quality legal advice across a varied caseload and support the Authority in delivering effective alegal service.

Your main responsibilities will be to:

Advise our clients on the law and legal issues relating to their matter which can cover several different areas of the law.

To draft documents, contracts, statutory notices, orders and other legal letters, as allocated and required by client departments tailored to the Authority’s needs.

As directed by the Head of Legal Services, to act on behalf of the Authority in disputes andrepresent them in Court, if necessary.

Who are we looking for?

You will be able to evidence a thorough knowledge of a minimum of two areas of law impacting the Authority as per the Person Specification. You will be an excellent communicator and confident in negotiating and persuading others to undertake a course of action. The ability to self manage your work is a must and you should be confident at managing your cases through IT systems.
