As part of a well-established multidisciplinary team of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, this role offers the chance to develop your clinical skills and experiences within a specialised area of pharmacy. You will play a key role in delivering a high-quality, comprehensive service to all users of the chemotherapy e-prescribing system. You will also contribute to the successful delivery of system developments and improvement projects, ensuring they are completed to agreed timelines and high standards.
The ChemoCare team is based at Beech Hill Road on the Royal Hallamshire Hospital central campus. Set up drug libraries, including information used to produce worksheets and labels, on the system. This includes new drugs and those used in clinical trials.
Action change requests to the live prescribing system under the supervision of the Principal Pharmacist, Chemotherapy e-prescribing and/or the System Manager, Chemotherapy e-Prescribing.
Train pharmacy staff and other users, including nursing staff and administrative staff in the use of the Chemotherapy e-Prescribing System.
Deputise for the System Manager in their absence.
Contribute to the pharmacy departmental services including bank holidays, evenings and weekends.
You will be working for an organisation which values and respects all of its staff and the community it serves. This vacancy is advertised on a fixed term contract basis for a period of 12 months due to the post being externally funded. The fixed term contract status of the post holder will be reviewed in accordance with the Trust's legal obligations regarding fixed term contracts taking into consideration the ongoing source of the external funding and the requirement for the post to be maintained.
Please note all existing NHS staff will only be considered on a secondment basis. This must first be agreed with your current line manager.
Please view the attached Job Description and Person Specification documents for full details regarding this post.
When completing your application please ensure that you clearly demonstrate how you meet the role criteria.
