Rough sleeping and homelessness is a huge challenge for the City of Oxford and we need someone with drive and passion to help us to make a difference in this area. We are looking for someone with experience of commissioning services and managing projects who can join our team and play a lead role in delivering the Council’s strategy to support some of the most vulnerable people in our city.

Our Rough Sleeping and Homelessness Team carry out a commissioning function, with an annual budget of £3 million. With many services commissioned on a countywide basis the role will need to work with commissioning partners in other Oxfordshire councils to ensure services are being delivered They also coordinate multi-agency responses to preventing homelessness and rough sleeping in the city. As the Senior Commissioning Officer, you will be expected to take the lead on key commissioning projects and initiatives, help to maximise funding for the service, and deliver excellent best practice services. You must be able to manage a complex workload, have strong communication skills, and be committed to finding the very best solutions and services for those that are sleeping rough or homeless. You will be expected to facilitate the work of others, so collaboration is key along with strong organisational skills and a proven ability to analyse and interpret data and write reports.
