We are currently recruiting for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer with a solid technical background in Windows Server and VMWare to join a growing team working in Sopra Steria’s Aerospace Defence and Security sector. This role is hybrid with 3-4 days per week in the office in Stevenage.
Due to the nature of the client and the project we are only able to progress with candidates that are eligible for SC clearance.
What you’ll bring:
- Evaluate hardware and software (within server, network, storage or desktop environments)
- Integration and test of new products (both hardware and software) for incorporation into program infrastructure
- Administration and enhancement of the environment and its supportability, for example: administration of user accounts, control the network access integrity, manage the data, in terms of space allocated to data, access authorizations, SAN, optimization.
- Provide second line support to ensure right support.
- To be aware of the relevant SLA structure and to respond, fix or escalate according to the limits set out within that structure.
What you’ll bring:
- Experience of working in a project environment.
- Experience within a customer support environment and an appreciation of the impact of problems on the customer business.
- Documentation Skills, with the ability to produce documents for use by an end user, as well as operational procedure documentation for use by service desk personnel.
- Technical understanding of the following:
Windows Server (2012–2022) deployment and management
DNS, DHCP, Group Policy configuration and troubleshooting
VMware ESXi 8.x, vSphere, right-sizing
Active Directory
Scripting and Automation
Monitoring tools/platforms
Patching and Compliance via WSUS/SCCM
HPE Hardware Management and Firmware maintenance for ProLiant's, Blade Enclosures and Synergy Frames and exposure to OneView.
