About the Role:
We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Revenues Inspector to support the accurate administration of Council Tax. The Revenues Inspector is responsible for carrying out timely and thorough inspections of both residential and commercial properties to ensure correct banding, assessment and liability, this may include vacant and properties under construction or conversion. The role involves investigation and reviewing entitlement to Council Tax discounts, exemptions and reliefs and identifying changes in occupancy or use. The postholder will also maintain the integrity of the Council Tax database
The position is full time, working 37 hours per week on a permanent basis. We offer a hybrid working arrangement, combining the flexibility to work from home with time in the office as required. As you will be required to regularly travel around the borough to carry out property inspections, you will need a full clean UK driving licence and use of a vehicle

The Council considers that the successful applicant will have access to the Government’s secure network and will need to have a Baseline Personnel Security Standard check completed. In addition to the normal pre-employment checks this requires a criminal record check for unspent convictions and verification of employment history for the preceding 3 years. Where the 3 years of employment history cannot be verified through the most recent employment reference, you will need to provide a copy of your HMRC PAYE record for the 3-year period and will need to explain the reasons for any gaps in employment

About You:
- Educated to GCSE standard, or equivalent, including English & Maths at a grade 4/C or above.
- Excellent customer care skills, and a good understanding of GDPR legislation.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft packages.
- Ability to manage time effectively to meet tight deadlines.
- Have a full UK driving licence and daily access to a car.
