Salary: Grade 6, £26,403 - £27,255 pro rata (pay award pending)

Contract Type:

Post 1: Permanent, Full time, 37 hours per week (Martinwells Centre)

Post 2: Temporary fixed term until 31
st March 2028) part time, 30 hours per week, 4 days per week (Civic Office).

We are currently recruiting a Neighbourhood Support Officer for the Central and South Neighbourhoods Team. The post is a pivotal part of a team who support the communities of Doncaster to be strong, active and resilient
Duties include:
To work within an inspiring team of neighbourhood-based staff within a geographical location. Supporting an all age service in:
  • Community engagement
  • Capacity building
  • Community cohesion
  • Diversionary and community safety activities
  • Local and national programmes such as Wellbeing, Early Intervention and Prevention, Low Level Crime and ASB, Supporting Families and Community Led Support.

Duties will include:
  • To support the community planning and consultation process including involvement in community engagement such as Community Impact Surveys and Community events
  • To facilitate and support a number of multi-agency and community meetings ensuring that action schedules, performance updates are provided and maintained
  • To research information, carry out analysis and interpretation of different types of data and information from a variety of sources
  • Coordinate, support and facilitate community events and activities for the range of themes within the service supporting early intervention of issues and helping to build community capacity and community resilience.
  • Contribute to Ward Member and wider officer / service briefings, prepare presentations, statistical information, correspondence, good news, press releases and other associated literature as required to progress community priorities plans
  • Work closely with area team staff to coordinate and increase community volunteers
  • Collate and maintain data / intelligence to support community profiles, community plans and support wider community development, area and service planning.
