We are seeking a passionate and experienced Men’s Football Head Coach to lead and develop our college football programme. This is an exciting opportunity to shape a high-quality performance environment, support young athletes in reaching their potential, and contribute to a positive and inclusive student experience
You will deliver outstanding coaching, drive player development both on and off the pitch, and play a key role in recruitment, programme management, and stakeholder engagement
Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality coaching sessions aligned with FA principles
  • Develop clear performance pathways into elite programmes
  • Support student-athletes in balancing education and football (dual-career pathways)
  • Monitor attendance, behaviour, and overall engagement
  • Manage a team of coaches
  • Work closely with coaches, staff, and external partners
  • Build strong links with clubs, FA networks, and the local community
  • Represent the college professionally at events, meetings, and fixtures

For this role, it is essential you have the following:
  • UEFA B Licence
  • Level 3 qualification in Sport (Coaching/Sport Science or similar)
  • Experience coaching male footballers (ideally 16–19 age group)
  • FA Safeguarding Children certification
  • FA Emergency First Aid in Football (EFAiF)
  • Experience in education, academy, or community football.

Desirable

  • UEFA A Licence
  • FA Advanced Youth Award
  • Experience in AoC Sport, JPL or elite academy environments
  • Knowledge of the England Talent Pathway (ETP)
  • Experience with video analysis tools
  • Background in Strength & Conditioning or sport science
