About the Role

Sefton Council‘s Green Sefton Team is recruiting a Golf Shop Assistant to join our busy team.

The post is a fixed term contract to the end of the year and is for 12 hours/week based at Bootle Golf Course.

Green Sefton provides our communities with a clean, green Borough (including parks, playing fields, allotments, municipal golf courses, highway trees and woodlands, play and recreational facilities, and our coast and countryside, which include specially protected sites) to the benefit of residents, visitors, investors, and nature.

Successful applicants will be required to provide excellent customer care to players, club members and non-members using the Council’s two municipal golf courses, undertaking a range of duties including general shop duties, ticket checking, taking payment and accounting for cash, giving advice, taking phone calls.

Applicants should have good literacy and numeracy skills and be computer literate. Experience of working in a shop or other similar environment would be useful and experience in the use of computerised cash register would be desirable.

Applicants will be required to undertake general day to day maintenace and cleansing activities to ensure the facilities and equipment are clean, safe and well presented for clients.

Applicants should have good interpersonal and communication skills. Experience of working with members of the public both face to face and in handling telephone and email enquiries would be beneficial. Experience of working in the leisure or golf industry would be desirable but not essential.

The Post holder will be expected to work shifts, (early & late) and weekends in accordance with the opening hours of the Golf Courses.
