About The Role


The Director, Global Physical Security is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the Verifone’s physical assets, personnel, and visitors. This role involves managing access control systems, video surveillance, and physical barriers, as well as coordinating with security personnel to maintain a secure environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in security systems management, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to respond swiftly and effectively to security incidents.


This is an office based role and can be located in any of the following locations:


  • Ashford, UK
  • Warsaw, Poland
  • Alpharetta, GA,
  • Clearwater, FL


This role will report to the Head of Real Estate based in the UK.


Key Responsibilities:


Access Control Management:

  • Oversee the installation of Access Control systems in new and existing locations.
  • Manage, administer and monitor authentication systems, including key cards, biometric scanners, and PIN codes.
  • Manage and maintain physical barriers such as doors, locks, turnstiles, fencing, gates, bollards, and barricades.
  • Coordinate with IT to ensure proper integration and functionality of access control software.


Video Surveillance:

  • Oversee the installation, maintenance, and monitoring of surveillance cameras (CCTV and IP cameras).
  • Utilize Video Management Systems (VMS) for real-time monitoring and historical review of footage.
  • Implement motion detection and analytics software to identify and respond to potential security threats.


Security Personnel Coordination:

  • Work closely with stationary guards, mobile patrols, and response teams to ensure comprehensive security coverage.
  • Establish and maintain security checkpoints, ensuring they are properly staffed and equipped.
  • Conduct regular training sessions for security personnel on new protocols and technologies.


Local Access Control Integration:

  • Manage localized authentication systems for high-security areas eg. PCI, including room-specific key cards, biometric scanners, and PIN codes.
  • Oversee local surveillance efforts, ensuring sensitive areas are adequately monitored.
  • Integrate local access controls with facility-wide security systems for seamless monitoring and response.


Incident Response and Reporting:

  • Respond promptly to security breaches, alarms, and other incidents.
  • Conduct thorough investigations and document findings in detailed reports.
  • Work with law enforcement and emergency responders as needed.


Security Policy and Compliance:

  • Develop, implement, and enforce security policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments.


Technology and System Upgrades:

  • Stay updated on the latest security technologies and industry trends.
  • Recommend and implement upgrades to security systems and protocols.
  • Manage vendor relationships and oversee the procurement of security equipment.


Skills And Experience We're Looking For


  • Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, Security Management, or a related field
  • Relevant certifications (e.g. CPP, PSP) are a plus
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in physical security, access control, or a related field
  • Proficient in security systems management, including access control and video surveillance technologies. Familiarity with Video Management Systems (VMS) and security analytics software
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively to security incidents
  • Willingness to travel globally as required to Verifone locations
