We rely on great team-work to get the job done. We make real-time decisions often in pressurised situations, so you’ll need a cool head.

It’s a job that will get your adrenaline pumping and get under your skin. We love our job – our team-mates in surveillance and investigations roles usually build a long career here.

Once you’ve done a job like this it is hard to leave behind and go back to the 9-5. We’ll support you with ongoing training and opportunities to make sure you get the most out of your skills and career, as you become a specialist in surveillance.

Nothing that is worth doing is easy.

We want to be honest. This is a demanding role.

You’ll make difficult decisions in real time. Sometimes you’ll be the Officer in Charge, directing the team around you.

You’ll be on surveillance operations that might mean you need to start early and finish late. You might work at the weekend or at night, and you’ll go where the person under surveillance goes.

You’ll need to be organised and prepared. You’ll need to study the intelligence, attend the briefing and make a plan - before you even get into the car, or step out on to the street.

We know you’re working hard for us and being flexible, and we’ll do the same for you. We’ll treat you with respect and give you autonomy over your work and how you do it.

You had to finish late last night? You might choose to start late the next day, or use your flexible working hours to take a day off.

You’ve been out on surveillance for a few days in a row? You might work at home for the next few days as part of our hybrid working model.

It is demanding work. But its hugely rewarding and exciting. There are few other jobs that are so directly connected to real, tangible results. So few other jobs where your decision, right now, really matters.

If you’re up for it – we’d love to hear from you.

This isn’t a job for any one type of person - if you think you can do it, please apply.

We’re really interested in applications from women, and people from ethnic minority backgrounds.
