We currently have a Secondment position for a Senior Sister Charge Nurse for Ophthalmology

In this role, you will support the delivery of strong visible clinical leadership, promoting professional standards and guidance to all staff. You will ensure that the highest standards of care are maintained across the service. The role is vital to supporting quality improvement and assurance processes which underpin the provision of safe and effective, care.

Taking continuous responsibility and accountability for the 24-hour management and organisation of the department. This involves managing a wide range of complex and sometimes conflicting priorities.

Provide specialist nursing advice to support and facilitate high quality, individualised care to patients/ clients and relatives/ carers in collaboration with the multi professional team, in line with local and national targets

At all times ensure that the needs of the patient are placed at the centre of are delivery.

The Ophthalmology department based on A Floor contains the outpatient clinic (with in excess of 50,000 attendances annually),emergency eye centre, glaucoma unit, low vision suite, prosthetic eye suite, orthoptics, ophthalmic imaging and electrophysiology.

This opportunity requires an individual with drive, ambition and a genuine desire to improve the lives of Ophthalmology patients through offering opportunities to be involved in high quality care in an outpatient setting .

We are looking for someone with excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
