The Digital Partnerships team is responsible for Visa’s relationships with the largest technology companies and platforms in the world. The team identifies, structures, and closes deals to pursue opportunities with these critical companies. Digital Partnerships team works closely with Visa’s Product and Solutions teams (functions and services) to identify and pursue new merchant, Issuing & Acquiring clients, service providers and ecosystem participants in European payments.

The Digital Partnerships Manager will drive Visa’s digital, innovation and business agenda with named Digital Partners. The role will be focused on strengthening Visa’s relationship with some of the largest merchants in the world and unlock new revenue driven opportunities for Visa products and services. The role requires strong business development and analytical skills, understanding of Visa’s authorisation frameworks, ability to navigate internal and external stakeholders on difficult topics and find opportunities to grow usage of Visa’s services.

What we expect of you, day to day.

  • Engage with named digital partners – build strong relationships and be in a driving sit to understand partners needs and identify new business opportunities for Visa. Negotiate new opportunities with the support of the team leader and oversee the execution of those initiatives and deals. Contribute to account plans in alignment with client strategies and team OKRs.
  • Establish fluency in all Visa solutions and communicate and articulate all aspects of Visa value propositions for strategic partners, consultatively identify and prioritize partner needs and craft tailored solutions that drive specific commercial metrics and increase client satisfaction with Visa products/services. Focus on revenue generating client engagements.
  • Coordinate with global teams to prioritize/include Europe in client account strategy and execute on client contracts
  • Invest in strengthening matured solutions with clients (tokens, 3DS etc) and deploying foundation for the next generation payment flows (Click to Pay, Visa Acceptance platform, Visa Direct etc.).
  • Operate as an acceptance subject matter expert and coordinate technical deep dives on authorisation optimization by preparing materials independently through variety of dashboards as well as self-pull data to identify improvement opportunities analyzing decline codes and consolidating best practices
  • Proactively articulate implications of existing client agreements on new Visa product/fees in a timely fashion to relevant stakeholders internally and externally working.
  • Navigate client escalations balancing Visa principles of obsessing over clients and acting like an owner to do what’s in best interest of Visa and the payments ecosystem.


 

  • Good understanding of economics, global payment systems, big tech (GAFAM) business models and key digital trends.
  • Strong customer focus, skills to identify client needs and articulate value propositions, structure and close partnership deals. Ability to develop and execute account plans spanning multiple business units across complex organizations.
  • Data management and analytics skills. high proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to hold ground in discussions relates to acceptance business and technology aspects.
  • Payments background on acquirer/merchant side use is a strong plus
  • Strong organisation and project execution skills. Ability to prioritise projects balancing client needs and Visa objectives.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work as one Visa collaboratively across functions and geographies in a complex matrix environment. Ability to establish effective relationships and communicate with all levels internally and with clients.
