Revenue share arrangements

-Ensure appropriate revenue and cost recognition of customer activity including management and reconciliation of associated balance sheet accounts for Currencycloud. 

-Month end entries to record revenue and associated costs ahead of global reporting deadlines.

-Provide monthly insight and analyses on monthly movements in the revenue share income stream against budget and actuals. 

-Assess, explain, and reconcile monthly P&L impact from customer forward activities including cancellations and amendments to trades.

-Evaluate transactions for correct accounting treatment, especially revenue recognition matters, and prepare thoroughly researched and well thought-out technical memos to support the accounting for such transactions.

-Designing and develop appropriate balance sheet reconciliations that make use of automation tools to reconcile large scale datasets with general ledger activity.

-Driving continual change including automations, error reduction and alignment to Visa internal control and processes

-Oversee client commissions payment process oversight.

- Review of customer accounts and statements.

- Review and approval of customer payments ensuring compliance with Visa control processes.

- Escalations of customer and internal queries.

- Review and approval of account adjustments.

- Maintenance of static data on customers including updates when required.

 

Client safeguarded cash and liability reporting

-Month end journals for client safeguarded asset and liability balances.

-Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations for client safeguarded asset that tie back to underlying banking and trading records.

-Quality assurance over the preparation of underlying client asset reconciliations and reporting from Currencycloud’s operational treasury teams.

 

Financial reporting

-Work with the Europe and US Accounting teams, when required, to implement new financial accounting policies and procedures.

-Contribute to Visa’s global month/quarter/year end reporting requirements.

-Managing external and internal auditors in the execution of their financial review.

-Assist in the preparation of statutory financial accounts in local GAAP across the Currencycloud group. 

 

Month-end Close and Ad-hoc Projects

-Review and approve journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations prepared by Sr. Accountant / Accountant for monthly activity in the broker revenue cycle.

-Reviewing monthly/quarterly/annual balance sheet and income statement analytics as part of the close.

-Act as a project lead, when required in a variety of cross-functional or process enhancement projects including planning, leading and execution.

-Provide coaching, mentoring, and developmental feedback to more junior staff and indirect reports helping to shape team culture and develop staff.

-Monitoring the success of the month end and adjusting to improve efficiency and accuracy.

-Alignment of processes to that of Visa's internal control framework.

-Documenting best practice processes.

 

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.



  • ACA or ACCA qualification and at least 8 years of progressive professional accounting experience, preferably in both a public accounting firm and a publicly listed company.
  • Thorough knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS and UKGAAP, strong technical writing skills and experience in the implementation and handling of complex accounting matters with proven ability to research and clearly articulate and document complex technical accounting issues.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to be able to connect the dots and approach issue resolution with a forward-looking view to anticipate and address problems.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including excellent written, oral, listening and presentational skills and ability to work well under pressure and interact at all levels as a thought-partner

  • Preparation and review of statutory accounts and interaction with auditors.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Excellent project management skills to drive assigned projects to completion with minimal supervision.

  • Strong communication, interpersonal and influencing skills and ability to work effectively in a matrix management structure in a complex and diverse, international, and multi-cultural environment.
