Head of Product – Barrhead Travel & Specialist Divisions Glasgow HQ - hybrid role subject to


agreement – reporting to Product & Commercial Director


A fantastic opportunity to join one of the largest and growing Independent Travel Agencies in the


UK. This newly created role will see the candidate work closely with the Heads of Retail, Cruise, and


Marketing to support all product functions and drive commercial effectiveness. Leading a team of


product executives, the role will be to optimise existing products and develop new and exclusive


products across all areas of the business including beach, cities, cruise, tour, and Canada.


Responsibilities:



  • The Head of Product will help to define the destination strategy, product planning and will


be accountable for performance to ensure targets are met.



  • Lead the product team to identify new supplier and product opportunities.



  • Select competitive product for marketing initiatives and work with the commercial/business


development teams to ensure prices are competitive.



  • Use metrics to track, monitor and drive growth, revenue, and quality goals.



  • Monitor competitor activity and pricing against our own as well as monitoring market trends


and analysis of booking data.



  • Ensure the team are delivering consistency with the quality of products and supplier


management.



  • As part of the senior team, you will collaborate with other internal stakeholders and report


on the product performance and development.



  • Attend key meetings with suppliers, venues, and attractions as well as industry events and


conferences.



  • Continually drive process improvement.



  • Role can be remote base with travelling required (domestic and international) to fulfil


responsibilities of the role.


What we are looking for:



  • Product management and planning experience.



  • Hold existing relationships with appropriate suppliers.



  • Excellent communication & relationship building skills, with experience of supplier


negotiations.



  • High level of attention to detail



  • Good analytical skills and numerate accuracy.



  • A strong commercial acumen.



  • Excellent organisation skills with the ability to work under pressure, managing significant


workloads at a fast pace, prioritising where necessary.
