Gap Personnel who are operating as an employment business are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for Machine Maintenance Operative for a company based in Knowsley Business Park area.


The position is ongoing with a possibility of going into a permanent contract for suitable candidates.



Hours of Work:


· Flexible hours - 8-hour shifts between the hours of 5am – 11pm


· Possible room for negotiation for right candidate



Pay Rate:


· £13.50 per hour


· £1.50 per hour shift allowance for working between the hours of 10pm – 6am



Job role:


Working as part of the production team to ensure production is completed efficiently whilst adhering to the sites health and safety procedures and maintaining a clean and safe working environment. Changing machine parts for new line production and setting systems for new packaging labels and boxes, maintaining flow of production, fixing any blockages in production line as quickly as possible.

Production supervisor



Main duties and responsibilities:


· To ensure all production tasks are completed within the given timescales whilst adhering to the health and safety procedures


· To keep a clean and tidy working environment ‘clean as you go policy’


· Follow Standard Operating Procedures for completion of production tasks


· Preparation of machinery and production areas as per Standard Operating Procedures when required


· Be flexible with start/finish times to be able to cover holidays/sickness


· Ensure any machinery faults/non-conforming activities found are reported through the correct channels


· Maintain good communication with supervisors and the wider team


· Raise any training issues with HR or the Training Manager


· Maintain a clean as you go area and demonstrate good manufacturing practice (GMP)


· Support the need for change and actively get involved in continually looking for ways to improve performance


· Takes part in Continuous Improvement activities and contribute suggestions to improve line performance


· Help during changes on the line learning new skills as required


· Work on different lines and areas where required


· Comply with all company procedures and codes of practice to ensure a safe and hygienic workplace


· Complete regular/routine tasks without being asked by working on own initiative


· Focus on attention to detail and maintaining high standards


· Other duties relating to this role and Production Environment



Knowledge and Experience


· Experience in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment


· Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to take direction


· Ability to challenge others in a professional and constructive manner


· Knowledge of machinery/procedures, which are used in the food production process


· Understanding of Environmental requirements and responsibilities
