We are looking for a Head of Project Management and Cost Consultancy to lead our growing project management and cost consultancy practice.


This is a full time, permanent role with a base salary up to £80,000 dependent on experience.


About this role


Pennington Choices is a UK wide consultancy and surveying company working across the built environment. We have a unique opportunity to lead our established project management and cost consultancy team, as we embark on our next five year growth strategy.


The Head of Project Management and Cost Consultancy (PMCC) will be part of our senior leadership team. A technical expert in their field, we are also looking for somebody who has an entrepreneurial approach and can thrive in an agile and demanding environment whilst engaging and developing high performance teams to deliver the very highest standards to our clients.


This role would suit a senior project manager or cost consultant/ quantity surveyor in construction (or similar) who is looking for a leadership role in a growing company, with significant development potential, and a great benefits package.


Role Objectives


Growth strategy - work alongside the Professional Services Director to develop and deliver the business strategy and plan for PMCC, aligned to overall organisational strategy objectives.


Leadership - leading the PMCC teams, developing technical competence and capability to ensure services are delivered to the highest standards. Recruit and build capacity to meet our growth ambitions.


Client relationship management - build and maintain strong trusted partnerships with our clients, advising at a strategic level to ensure successful delivery of client objectives.


Project delivery – lead and support delivery of key client projects. Commercial and operational performance – achieve agreed performance targets in line with key business objectives.


Business development – work with the sales and marketing teams to drive new enquiries, support tender development and drive growth.


Key skills and experience



  • Chartered status (RICS/ CIOB/ APM or equivalent).

  • Proven project management and cost consultancy/ quantity surveying experience, meeting, and exceeding targets.

  • Ability to communicate, present and influence all levels of an organisation, including executive and C-level.

  • Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

  • Demonstrable experience of utilising data and analytics as a means of improvement and measurement of performance.

  • Excellent commercial acumen.

  • Degree or equivalent experience and/or education. About you We are looking for someone that:
