Bedford High School is a community secondary school with approximately 1100 students across two sites. Our last Ofsted inspection was judged Good. Our school values are To Care, To Learn, To Achieve.


Bedford High School seeks to appoint two effective and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to be able to work closely with staff, parents and outside agencies, follow individual care plans as directed and establish good relationships and team working with the wider school community.


We try to ensure that all our special need students are given equal opportunities to access the school curriculum by our dedicated team.


Bedford High School has a dedicated SEND department named The Base. The department consists of our Sendco, Deputy Sendco, Lead Send TA, and 7 Teaching Assistants.


We forge good working relationships with students and teaching staff and pride ourselves in offering a range of interventions including delivery of maths, literacy and well-being in the classroom and 1:1 support. We support our students in the setting of and monitoring short term goals, as well as creating and developing learning plans to ensure effective strategies are used in the classroom setting. In addition, we offer a range of lunchtime and after school activities.
