Salary: £85 – £100 per day

The School/role:

We are working with an Ofsted rated ‘Good’ Alternative Provision school based in Walsall that are seeking a passionate and resilient 1:1 Behaviour Mentor to join their team. The school are committed to offering a second chance to students who may not thrive in mainstream education. Since their establishment in February 2019, the school have been dedicated to providing a positive environment where every student is encouraged to succeed.

As a 1:1 Behaviour Mentor, you will play a crucial role in supporting specific students with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCP’s) in Year 9 and Year 11 who have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Your responsibilities will include providing personalised assistance, fostering a supportive learning environment, and helping students overcome challenges they may face related to SEMH needs such as anxiety, behavioural difficulties, and social interaction.

Requirements:

• Qualified Teaching Assistant OR Relevant SEN Background

• PECS and Makaton training/experience

• ASD, SEMH, Non-verbal, PMLD, MLD, visual impairment needs experience

• Level 1 safeguarding certificate

• Recent school based references

• Valid Photo ID – Driving Licence or passport

• Full DBS – on the update service
