About our Nursery

Busy Bees Day Nursery and preschool at Derby Oakwood are proud to hold Ofsted rating Good. The warm and friendly team look forward to welcoming a new Flexible / Relief Nursery Practitioner, assisting them in giving our children the best start in life.

You will find our nursery in Oakwood on Smalley Drive just 13 minutes from Derby City Centre. If you’re visiting us by car, rest assured we have a parking facility available. Arriving by public transport? There is a bus stop nearby on Hallgate Close serving bus route 26, and a bus stop just a 5-minute walk away on Smalley Drive end, serving bus route 32.

What to expect as a Relief Nursery Practitioner

• Ensure every individual child’s needs are met, including supporting parents with any SEND/ASL needs.


• Take ownership of the observation, assessments and planning for your key children in line with EYFS and provide developmentally challenging next steps.


• Ensure we encourage and praise children’s development and achievements.


• And most of all…have FUN!
