We are pleased to share an opportunity to join Flagship Group’s Newtide Housing Association Team, as a Research and Support Officer. The role is a permanent post, working 37 hours per week: Monday to Friday.


This role is working from our King Street office, in Norwich. The role comes with Agile Working and Flexible Working will be considered.


In this job role as a Research and Support Officer, you will provide research and operational support to the Managing Director of Newtide Homes and their wider portfolio of teams, to achieve the Group’s strategic aims and objectives.


You will conduct internal and external research to support the M.D. and the great people doing great things in the Newtide portfolio, to support them to excel in their operational activities. This portfolio includes teams that provide core housing services, look after the quality and presentation of Flagship’s neighbourhoods, provide support with safeguarding and anti-social behaviour and provide support to those that need additional assistance to live in their homes. Through this research, you’ll provide insight, advice and support on the broad range of issues that impact these teams. Also leading on engagement with local MPs, Councillors and key stakeholders in Newtide’s area, acting as the direct point of contact and liaison.


In addition to this, you’ll support and lead on event management, conference booking, formatting documents and minuting meetings. Provide high-level diary management, act as a gatekeeper to the team, and resolve conflicting priorities with exceptional organisational skills.


Your support to the MD includes identifying, anticipating and preparing timely briefings, writing and proof-reading reports, undertaking data analysis, speech writing and correspondence preparation. Also, supporting them in identifying and actioning learning and improvement opportunities, through tenant engagement and tracking high level complaints through to resolution, focusing on MP responses and investigations. When the M.D. is absent, you’ll use your initiative in triaging queries and demands, actioning where you can and/or providing analysis and recommendations to the team for their consideration.


Applications are welcomed for the role of Research and Support Officer from those with previous excellent research and writing skills; with the ability to distil complex information into a salient and cogent narrative. You will be extremely IT literate and able to write and present documents appropriately.


You will demonstrate a passion for learning new things and continuous improvement. Having excellent communication skills at all levels, can multi-task and effectively manage multiple priorities, staying calm under pressure. You’re also incredibly self-motivated, adaptable and eager to take on new challenges.
