As part of the Crisis and Home Treatment Team, you will work closely with our Psychology Team and the multidisciplinary team by offering support and assessment to patients. Dynamic and capable, you will be comfortable with carrying out psychometric assessments and structured observations, conducting semi-structured interviews and gathering self-report data.



With excellent communication and people skills, you will be calm, confident and assertive in emotionally demanding situations. You will be expected to set and maintain professional boundaries when dealing with distressing or hostile situations and behaviour. You will be a member of the CRT Team operating from the hub and the Home Treatment Teams across West Berkshire. You will be required to liaise with other relevant services such as Community Mental Health Teams.



Self-motivated and confident working without direct supervision, you will show initiative and a determination to support patients and their families through creative engagement. Enthusiastic to share your knowledge, you will be an inspirational member of our team, striving to be your very best and supporting colleagues with teaching and project work.



Great with Microsoft Office packages, data handling and digital platforms, you will assist with relevant service evaluation and audit projects, data collection, data analysis and report writing.



You will be contributing to assessment, e.g. direct observations, formal psychometric testing, semi-structured interviews



You will co-ordinate and assist in the development and delivery of groups as the service requires and will also be required to occasionally work individually with service users and their family/carer’s to deliver evidence-based psychological interventions.



Writing appropriate notes and clear care plans is essential for a smooth experience of the service user within the service. You may be required to draft reports / letters.



Liaison with other services is a key part of your role.



Developing and disseminating information for service users, carers, colleagues, referrers, and commissioners



Literature searches, e.g. to inform best practice and undertake tasks associated with research, audit and service evaluations

There are several posts as full time and part time available. Although you will be based at a specific location within the CRHTT, you may be required to attend other locations within the trust. There is flexibility to attend to certain tasks from your home environment where agreed.



The “must haves” for you to be considered for this role:

An upper second class (2:1) honours degree or higher in psychology (with entitlement to graduate membership of BPS)



Able to demonstrate additional interest and/ or learning in relevant areas of applied psychology and mental health practice .



Previous experience working with people with any of the following: mental health difficulties; neurological difficulties and learning disabilities.



High level communication skills (written and verbal) including an ability to communicate and work in settings in which the atmosphere may be highly emotional.
