As a Barclays Relationship Development Director, you will be managing a portfolio of Mid Corporate clients and developing the portfolio through increasing wallet share. As a part of our UK Mid Corporate Coverage business area within Corporate Banking, you will get an opportunity to understand the clients’ objectives, opportunities and challenges, and work with them to achieve their business ambitions, offering expert industry insight across every sector to deliver the appropriate financial solutions for the clients.

What will you be doing?
•    Building and maintaining customer relationships with valuable key names, enhanced focus on winning new business and growing market share and optimum service delivery
•    Delivering against financial and customer objectives, by focusing on our existing customers to provide excellent service and be recognised as a recognized advisor
•    Being knowledgeable on client’s requirements, you will assess and interpret complex trends across our business to enable insightful proposition and aligned implementation
•    Ensuring effective risk management and compliance of existing customers and new opportunities
•    Assessing operational risk impacting the settlement systems, reputational risk from failure to make payments; Credit/market liquidity risks of clients, balance sheet risk from sales
•    Helping with AML, KYC, Customer Due Diligence, Compliance risks, Product risk, Data management risk
•    Collaborating with local Relationship Directors, product partners and the wider Barclays group to increase wallet share, including delivery of complex product solutions
•    Delivering complex product solutions by knowing the short- and long-term impact of commercial decisions to shape and drive innovation 


What we’re looking for:
•    Excellent commerciality, influential skills, and knowledge of market dynamics- market place, national, regional and local
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience of working in a banking corporate business environment
•    Experience with AML, KYC, Customer Due Diligence, Compliance risks, Credit Skills and Product risk
•    Business development skills including knowledge of Customer’s needs, negotiation skills etc 


Skills that will help you in the role:
•    Experience of business development and managing client relationships in a financial services organisation and regulatory environment
•    Knowledge of Risk policies and procedures relating to credit conformance and regulatory, operational, and legal risks
•    Being innovative, risk-based, and having client-focused approach and knowledge of the impact of economic environment on customer’s needs and business
•    Credit risk management expertise, IFS: ACIB, PCertB, Cert BB&C, DipBB&C or Omega Credit Skills Development (CSD) or complete risk accreditation within 12 months of being in role

Hemel Hempstead is a town in the Dacorum district in Hertfordshire, England. It is 24 miles northwest of London. Set right in the heart of Hertfordshire with easy road and rail links, the office is conveniently located close to many shops and restaurants. Hertfordshire as a County is situated immediately North of London and is the main operational and/or headquarters UK site of some very large employers.
