Our purpose at Team NP is simple: to keep people safe and to fight crime. But it takes more than officers alone to do the job – and that’s where our 2,000-strong team of police staff and 200 volunteers come in.

We are one of the largest police forces in England with a variety of departments and specialisms offering you endless opportunities. From mentoring and coaching schemes and online soft skills courses to leadership development programmes; we’ll give you the support, training, and time to carve out the career you always wanted. You can expect first-rate health and wellbeing support, as well as new initiatives to help you perform at your best.

The role

Here at Northumbria Police, we can offer you a career that is so much more than just a job, it’s a chance to be part of something that really matters, and this is the perfect time to join our People Department as a People Systems Coordinator.

You’ll be working as part of a team of Coordinators to ensure that our core people systems are configured and maintained to meet the standards agreed and support the associated business processes. Accurate, relevant and timeliness workforce data is essential to our everyday business and how you manage data and information as part of your role will be central to achieving this.

This is an exciting time to join our team as we introduce a new core people system into our organisation. The system will be used force wide, which will provide an opportunity to work in partnership with and support a variety of stakeholders. This is an impactful role where you’ll use data to inform accurate decisions that are pertinent to operational activity and financial planning.

What you’ll do:

  • Configure, manage and update force wide databases to enable accurate recording and control of workforce data.

  • Work in partnership with other functions to facilitate the development and improvement of core systems and processes and delivery of business objectives.

  • Engage with customers and key stakeholders, gathering and sharing resource intelligence to support the accurate recording of people data.

  • Manage demanding priorities, using high levels of judgement and initiative to coordinate necessary system updates.

  • Work as part of a team, identifying problems quickly and finding solutions.

  • Produce and analyse data reports and ensure accurate information is available to support decision making and planning activities.
