Bradford Nutrition and Dietetic Service

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and forward thinking dietitian, looking to develop their leadership and management skills, to join our learning disability and mental health team.

Bradford’s Nutrition & Dietetic Service is a dynamic team of over 60 Dietitians working in Acute, Community and Primary Care settings, supported by an excellent clerical team with good IT and library facilities.

Bradford is a vibrant, diverse, multicultural city with a wide range of entertainment and leisure activities available locally. There are good road and rail networks to Leeds and the M62 corridor, and easy access to the Yorkshire Dales and the South Pennines

You will join a growing team of dietitians/specialist dietitians and dietetic assistant practitioners providing specialist community learning disability (including enteral feeding) and in-patient/out-reach mental health services within our partner organisation Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust (BDCFT).

You will provide clinical supervision and day to day management and support to dietetic colleagues. You will hold a specialist clinical caseload and recent relevant experience in either learning disabilities or mental health is therefore essential.

You will work closely with multi-disciplinary teams in the specialist service areas. You will have a drive to develop yourself and others to improve patient care and will seek opportunities to lead on service improvement and deliver the values of Bradford Nutrition and Dietetic Services – Leading Nutrition, Valuing People and Showing Our Worth.

Applicants must be HCPC registered dietitians, who have obtained relevant clinical dietetic experience and who are car drivers with access to a car to meet the requirement for regular travel across organisational sites (reasonable adjustments will be considered)

At Bradford Teaching Hospitals we’re passionate about providing outstanding care for the people of the Bradford district and communities across the North of England. We’re keen to meet people interested in sharing our passion and helping us continue to deliver the highest quality of care to our patients.

This post embodies the Bradford District and Craven 'Act as One' principle of how we work together across health and care organisations and is a well-established and growing partnership between the Nutrition and Dietetic Service of BTHFT and BDCFT.

You will be supported by the clinical lead dietitian for LD/MH and the Principal Dietitian for Outreach Services and your personal development will be fully supported.

We are an agile and digitally enabled team working across community and in-patient sites with an element of home working also supported. The post is offered at full-time with part time applications also considered - please indicate your preferred working hours in the supporting information of your application.

You will have line management responsibilities and we are looking for a supportive and engaging leader who can develop and grow our team of dietitians.

You will fully participate in the training of ‘B’ and ‘C’ Placement student dietitians including undertaking the role of assessor.
