Your new role


As our Head of Business Operations in the UK, you will be responsible for ensuring implementation of continuous business improvement projects, as well as continued adoption and compliance with all Global and Market processes, systems and governance to support high quality and consistency in delivery within your Business Unit (the UK and Ireland), ultimately enabling Ramboll to achieve it's the profitability targets. You will be working across different business areas, spanning from engineering and design to environmental services and management consulting.


You will be part of the global Business Operations & Transformation Leadership team and, together with counterparts from other Geographies and the corporate organisation, you will have the opportunity to influence the global strategic direction around business operations and transformation.


To succeed in this role, you must have extensive knowledge and experience in driving operational change, continuous improvement and initiatives that have a direct positive impact on the profitability and performance of a business.


Your key responsibilities for the UK and Ireland will be:



  • Lead the implementation and continued adoption of Group and Market owned processes, systems, training, and governance within the Business Unit (e.g. for Sales Management, Project Management, Information Management, etc.).

  • Change Management: Ensure that capabilities for implementation, adoption, and permanent process support are in place.

  • Regularly review business performance. Working with and supporting the Country Market Directors and Market Operational Excellence Leads, addressing areas of underperformance in projects, staff utilization, profitability and non-compliance with Ramboll requirements.

  • Consolidate and deliver regular portfolio reports on local prioritized transformation initiatives.

  • Drive or support (depending on case) M&A process, incl. due diligence and post-merger integration, in collaboration with Group function owners.

  • Support review and audit processes led by Group and Markets and implement corrective measures based on challenges/non-conformities identified.

  • Engage with and secure alignment with relevant senior stakeholders across the Business Unit including the Managing Director, Country Market Directors, Global Division/Spearhead Directors and Design Directors.

  • Take responsibility on behalf of Ramboll in the UK and Ireland for Group-led initiatives directed at improving adoption and usage of global requirements, processes and systems.

  • Participate actively in the global leadership team dedicated to Business Operations and Transformation.

You will report to the UK Managing Director, with a dotted line to the Group Director, Business Transformation. You will become part of our Operational Excellence team, whose focus is to implement holistic operational processes, tools, and governance in Ramboll that enable efficient global collaboration toward client goals.   • Previous experience in large companies with implementing operational improvement projects, driving performance and ensuring compliance with relevant processes, systems and governance.

  • Significant work experience from similar roles in global organizations.

  • Effective leadership skills gained from experience in supporting a direct team as well as indirect management of project members, project contributors and senior stakeholders.
