An exciting opportunity awaits for a compassionate and dedicated individual to join one of our partnership schools in Watford as a SEN Teaching Assistant (TA). You'll be providing essential support to a Key Stage 2 student who occasionally exhibits challenging behaviour and has some social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. This role offers flexibility in hours for the right candidate and is temporary, but may become permanent from September 2024.

Responsibilities of your SEN TA role:
- Provide personalised support to the designated student throughout the school day
- Assist with academic tasks and activities tailored to the individual needs of the child
- Create a supportive and nurturing learning environment to promote the student's well-being
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to implement behaviour management strategies and individualised education plans (IEPs)
- Gain understanding of SEMH needs and utilise provided strategies to support the student effectively
- Maintain open communication with parents, offering updates on the student's progress and addressing concerns as they arise
Requirements of your SEN TA role:
- Previous childcare experience - essential
- Experience working with children displaying challenging behaviour - preferred
- Excellent communication skills to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
- Ability to demonstrate patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children facing diverse learning challenges
