Reporting To: Supply Chain Manager


Are you a detail-oriented individual with a knack for coordinating materials and supporting manufacturing processes? We are currently seeking a motivated Materials Planner to join our team in Stoke-on-Trent. In this role, you will report directly to the Supply Chain Manager and play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth flow of materials for our manufacturing operations.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Ensure the availability of raw materials required for the production process.

  • Maintain daily stock count sheets detailing code, description, supplier, and minimum quantity.

  • Place purchase orders for material requirements and communicate with suppliers.

  • Expedite urgent delivery requirements to meet production deadlines.

  • Create and maintain product details on the MRP (Material Requirements Planning) system.

  • Escalate any issues that may impact the production plan to the Supply Chain Manager.

  • Conduct weekly open order reviews and maintain data accuracy on the MRP system.

  • Create and record ad-hoc order requests for non-material items as needed.

  • Investigate any stock outs, identify root causes, and implement actions to minimize risk or reoccurrence.

  • Provide support to the business during new product launches.


Requirements:



  • Previous experience in materials planning or a similar role is preferred.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

  • Proficiency in using MRP systems and Microsoft Office suite.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
