As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Outreach Teacher to join our close-knit team.
About the role Preparing and delivering academic and pastoral activities to KS3 and KS4 SEND pupils mainly outside of the school site or within pupils’ homes.
Skills & Experience ● The role will involve regular travel within Stoke on Trent and Staffordshire, therefore, the ability to drive with access to a car is essential.
- Experience of teaching pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs
- Recognised Teaching Qualification required (QTSQTLSPTLLS etc)
- Good standard of English and Maths – at least Grade 4 or above Key Responsibilities
- To work closely with the school’s SLT to gain a thorough understanding of individual pupils in your caseload, plan effective strategies and set appropriate targets.
● Plan, prepare and deliver activities for pupils to enable them to make progress according to their learning pathways, including Maths and English.
● To liaise with subject leaders to ensure planned activities meet the needs of pupils.
● To be accountable for pupil progress and development of pupils within your caseload.
● Maintain an up-to-date knowledge and understanding of the professional duties of teachers.
● Be a role model of professionalism and good practice.
● Establish effective working relationships with pupils and parentscarers.
