Job Description 1

Facilities Assistant

  • Grade A3 (Salary range £25713 to £30783)

  • Estate and Facilities Department

  • Watford and Adjoining area

  • Closing Date: 30th April 2024

Some of our most dedicated staff work within support roles and we are looking for a Facilities Assistant to join the Estates and Facilities team. The role plays a vital part in not only supporting the Policing Service but the Communities that we serve, ensuring our buildings are maintained to current standards.

This is an exciting opportunity to influence and be part of improving our service delivery to create further efficiencies and financial savings. The successful candidate should have experience in undertaking a range of health and safety tasks including L8 water hygiene, fire and panic alarms testing, and general maintenance associated with the building services. These tasks form part of a detailed planned maintenance regime that links in with works as carried out by external contractors.

It is expected that the candidate will have a basic understanding of building services and as such must be able to undertake general maintenance tasks. Where necessary specialist training will be provided when required.

This role demands that you have a proactive approach to working as you will be the eyes and ears of the department, finding and dealing with site issues at source when working out on the estate. Alongside managing your own diary and workload within SLAs and department procedures.

The role forms part of a small group of 6 Facilities Assistants, although you will have responsibility for your own sites, meaning that there will be periods of working on your own away from the team.

As the position is mobile access to your own vehicle will be required.

For an informal chat about the role, please call Steve Brick on 07789 754 179
