The ideal candidate should have a proven track record in managing a warehouse/yard in a fast-paced environment and experience of effectively running a successful function. The individual will be responsible for the yard/warehouse operation and for providing excellent standards of service, efficiency, and performance.
Duties and responsibilities:
Responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the yard/warehouse department
Efficiently managing a team of yard/warehouse staff, ensuring orders are correct and on time, providing top quality customer service
Responsibility for all goods in/out
Ensuring company compliance of all warehouse/yard policies, legislations and procedures as well as taking responsibility for health and safety issues of the warehouse/yard
Managing, monitoring, and developing a team of warehouse/yard staff
Involvement in strategic development and improvements
Ensuring housekeeping is well maintained including excellent external presentation of our branch.
Maintain accurate administrative records.
Providing excellent standards of service, efficiency, and performance.
Experience and Skills:
Previous foreman/management experience, with a proven track record of managing a fast-paced environment would be essential.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Strong people management skills
Experience within the merchant industry is essential.
