Salary: £28,306.38 + excellent benefits

Serco’s Environmental Services provide a complete waste and recycling service on behalf of the residents and community in Maidenhead. With a professional, dedicated and friendly team of Refuse and Recycling staff, we ensure that streets, homes and businesses are kept clean, safe and tidy, whilst providing the very best levels of customer service to all members of the community that we serve.

The main purpose of this role is to maintain the stores, manage PPE distribution and equipment on site and to ensure the yard is kept clean, escalating issues where appropriate. Manage health and safety within the yard/ stores and regular monitoring to ensure these are maintained.

Main Duties

  • To assist in the opening and closing of the site as described in the working plan.
  • Assist the public with correct waste disposal and recycling
  • Promote recycling and environmental awareness to site users.
  • Support waste segregation and contamination prevention.
  • Remove any contamination from incorrect deposits from the public.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, safety, and order on-site.
  • Ensure the safe use, operation, storage of plant used.
  • To assist in all other areas of the Civic Amenity site, Transfer station, plant cover, weighbridge duties, yard marshal and Municipal operation as and when required.
