About the Role

As a Workshop Labourer based at our Rig in Montrose, you will play a vital role in maintaining a productive and orderly workshop environment. This position supports our repair group by managing workspace logistics and assisting in pre-operative works. Your daily responsibilities will be varied, encompassing power washing, material handling, workshop housekeeping, and workflow facilitation to ensure timely project deliveries. Your proactive approach and willingness to learn new skills will contribute significantly to production efficiency and team success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness across manufacturing workshops and external storage areas
  • Operate overhead gantry cranes and forklifts safely
  • Power wash equipment and assist the painting/blasting team
  • Manage coverall storage and locker room housekeeping
  • Handle on-time deliveries and pick-ups within the facility
  • Support production workflow by moving components to correct stations
  • Complete timekeeping records accurately
  • Identify and report health and safety risks, suggesting improvements
  • Follow company policies on safety, quality, and housekeeping (5S)
  • Assist other departments as needed and uphold safe working practices

Essential

Qualifications & Skills

  • Working knowledge of a manufacturing or steel fabrication environment
  • Forklift license
  • Clean driving license

Desirable

  • Computer literacy
  • Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings
  • Proficiency with measuring equipment and dumpy levels
  • Ability to perform accurate size calculations
  • Experience with metalworking machines
