Weekend Veterinary Surgeon
Medivet
Date: 2 weeks ago
City: Horsham
Contract type: Part time

Are you energised by the fast pace of a busy hospital environment? Do you thrive in a setting where you can contribute to shaping the future of clinical care? Medivet Faygate 24-Hour Hospital is currently seeking a Veterinary Surgeon to join the team on a weekend-only basis, bringing your clinical expertise to a thriving, forward-thinking practice with an outstanding reputation for excellence. Due to continued growth, we are looking for a well-rounded and capable individual to work 10-hour shifts on both Saturdays and Sundays, with the option to discuss additional hours if desired. This is a fantastic opportunity for a veterinary surgeon who enjoys variety, clinical challenge, and the unique rhythm of hospital practice — all while maintaining a balanced work pattern.
Situated in the heart of acres of rolling woodland, Medivet Faygate is set in beautiful, tranquil surroundings, with easy access to the South Downs National Park and the breathtaking Jurassic coastline. Despite the peaceful location, the hospital itself is a hive of clinical activity, offering high-quality care supported by a dedicated and friendly team. Our multi-vet, multi-disciplinary hospital has long been recognised for delivering market-leading standards of care to both patients and clients.
You’ll be joining a large and collaborative clinical team, including three night vets, eight day vets, six RVNs, one SVN, two VCAs, and five CCAs. Our team is known for being supportive, experienced, and passionate about patient care, and we pride ourselves on working together to deliver the best possible outcomes.
Our hospital is fully equipped with advanced diagnostic and surgical facilities including digital radiography, dental radiography, multiparameter anaesthetic monitors, endoscopy, bronchoscopy, in-house laboratory equipment, CT scanner, and two dedicated operating theatres. The practice also benefits from a separate cat waiting area, species-specific wards, and an isolation unit to support best-practice infection control. Medivet Faygate is accredited by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) as a Small Animal General Practice, and is also an Approved Veterinary Nurse Training Practice and active participant in the Veterinary Graduate Development Programme (VetGDP) — reflecting our strong commitment to professional growth and clinical excellence.
If you’re an experienced Veterinary Surgeon looking for a rewarding role in a well-resourced hospital where collaboration, development, and high standards of care are at the core — we’d love to hear from you.
