Web Developer

We’re looking for a proactive Web Developer with a passion for creating exceptional websites using the latest technologies in the field. You will play a critical role in transforming our website, choosing an ideal tech stack, and implementing features that enhance performance, usability, and security. Our current stack includes TinaCMS, React, Gatsby, Bootstrap. We’re looking for a candidate who’s eager to take ownership and build a robust, future-proof site that serves both our users and internal teams.

What will you do?

  • Website Development: Create well-designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices. Build high-performance websites and web applications.
  • Content Management: Maintain and develop our current with multiple CMS integrations (TinaCMS, GhostCMS, StrapiCMS). Ability to work across different CMS platforms, with GhostCMS for blogs and Strapi for the Academy.
  • Redesign: Redesign and redevelop our website using a modern, scalable tech stack. Evaluate our current use of TinaCMS and Gatsby and determine a better approach to support our long-term needs.
  • Advanced Features: Develop critical features like the Bunny Academy (powered by Strapi), secure and efficient forms, rich snippets for SEO, and A/B testing frameworks to facilitate data-driven decision-making.
  • Collaboration: Partner with designers to bring Figma designs to life, implementing precise, pixel-perfect components with strong attention to responsive behavior.
  • Security & Performance: Optimize site performance and implement security measures as necessary to ensure the safety and reliability of our website.
  • Develop for Mobile: Create a mobile-optimized website that provides an engaging, user-friendly experience on all devices.

What will you add?

  • Front-End development: Proficiency in front-end development web programming frameworks such as Gatsby, React, and TypeScript/JavaScript. Experience with HTML5, CSS3, and CSS frameworks such as Bootstrap, Bulma, and Tailwind CSS.
  • Architecture Expertise: With technologies like Next.js, TailwindCSS, and TypeScript knowledge in your toolkit, you’ll refine or rebuild the existing architecture to bring it up to modern standards.
  • Scripting Knowledge: You’ll be proficient writing scripts to implement integrations and advanced functionality using tools like Node.js.
  • CSS Expertise: Familiarity with core CSS and the best of class CSS techniques.
  • Analytical Focus: Implement A/B testing frameworks and integrate analytics platforms like Matomo and PostHog to gather actionable insights on user behavior and optimize for conversions.
  • Integrations: Enhance the website’s support capabilities by integrating with external services eg. Zendesk.
  • Component-Based Development: Build reusable and well-documented components, adhering to design principles and best practices for scalability and ease of maintenance.
  • Automated Deployment: Familiarity with CI/CD practices, including drafting releases, tagging versions, and deploying through GitHub’s actions.

  • Incremental Builds and Caching: Experience or knowledge of implementing incremental builds and caching strategies to improve build times, especially when updating blog pages or academy content.
  • Problem-Solving and Initiative: Proactive approach to troubleshooting and resolving issues in the development process, especially with a CI/CD focus, as well as experience working with GitHub workflows and other automation tools.
