I have a fantastic opportunity for a COMMITTED waking night support worker to join a brand new children's residential service in Chudleigh Knighton, Newton Abbot.

You need to be happy to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. It is challenging, but gratifying work!!

Your role would be to support young people aged between 8-18 during the night with learning/physical disabilities, complex health needs, autism and challenging behaviours.

Job Title: Waking Night Support Worker

Salary: £30,160 per annum

Location: Chudleigh Knighton, Newton Abbot (TQ13 postcode)

Contract: Permanent / Full-time

Hours: 40 hours a week

Responsibilities

  • To keep the homely, friendly culture and environment of the homes.
  • To be able to deal with challenging behaviours when needed.
  • Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
  • Provide support for the children and young people in the home and promote their independence and well-being.
  • Maintain a safe environment for the young people.
  • Ensuring the safety of the students and maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of the individual's; care plan, guidelines, reward system and preferred method of communication.
  • Supporting taxing behaviour safely and sympathetically.

Requirements

  • Experience as a children's support worker, or with young people is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience within another healthcare or social care setting is desirable but not essential.
  • You must be over the age of 21.
  • You must have a full UK manual driving licence - ESSENTIAL
