We are an Anti-bullying charity. Our aim is to help those who are targets of bullying through support and prevention and cooperation with university neuroscience research departments.

We are an Anti-bullying charity. Our aim is to help those who are targets of bullying through support and prevention and cooperation with university neuroscience research departments. Your role will massively contribute to the engagement of those supporting our work, spread awareness and enable us to scale our impact even further. It’s safe to say that this role is both challenging and highly rewarding, helping us to achieve our vision and promote awareness of bullying.

What are we looking for?

What we are looking for Prior experience in web design and development, with a portfolio of previous work (either paid or volunteer). Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe XD, Figma, Sketch) and front-end development tools (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript). Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) such as WordPress, Wix, or custom CMS solutions. Experience with responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, and UX/UI principles. Skills Strong visual design skills, with a keen eye for detail, layout, typography, and colour. Ability to translate Charity goals and vision into an intuitive, engaging web experience. Knowledge of SEO best practices and web performance optimisation. Basic understanding of web hosting, security protocols, plug ins and domain management. Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with non-technical staff. Other Requirements Passion for design and willingness to volunteer time and skills to a meaningful cause. Self-motivated and able to manage time effectively to meet project deadlines. Access to necessary software and tools for web design and development. Required Skills & Experience Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD, etc.) ,Figma, or Sketch other design tools. Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, for building dynamic web pages. Familiarity with front-end frameworks and libraries (e.g. React, Angular, Vue) Experience with responsive web design principles and techniques A keen eye for detail and a passion for creating high-quality, engaging user experiences. Strong portfolio demonstrating a range of web design projects. Ability to write clean, well-documented code and collaborate with the development team. Desirable Experience with UI/UX design principles, Graphic design, Database / CRM development, and Software and web development. Understanding of SEO best practices

What will you be doing?

What you will be doing As the Web Designer, you will play a crucial role in bringing the Reach charity's online presence to life. By crafting an intuitive, visually appealing website, you will help us effectively communicate our mission, engage with supporters, and drive donations and volunteer sign-ups. Your work will directly contribute to expanding our reach and increasing our impact within the local community. Ensure the website follows best practices for search engine optimisation (SEO) to improve visibility. Collaboration & Feedback Work closely with the Team members to understand the objectives, content needs, and visual identity. Ensure the website has appropriate security measures, such as SSL certificates and secure login procedures. Identify and fix any bugs or issues before the website goes live. Assist with the launch of the website, ensuring a smooth transition to the live environment. Key Responsibilities Design and create visually appealing websites that align with organisation guidelines. Collaborate with Event management team, developers, Video creators, and other stakeholders to produce functional, user-friendly web designs. Translate design concepts into fully responsive, mobile-friendly layouts and user interfaces. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest web design trends, tools, and technologies. Revise and improve existing websites to ensure a consistent and modern user experience. Building reusable HTML/CSS templates and UI components Optimizing page performance and ensuring cross-browser compatibility Troubleshooting and resolving front-end issues
