The Civil Aid Voluntary Rescue Association (CAVRA) is looking for a trustee, with knowledge and experience of finance, strategy and/or growing donations. This voluntary role can have a real impact on the lives of people by supporting communities.

Civil Aid Voluntary Rescue Association (CAVRA), is a voluntary resilience organisation operating within the United Kingdom, across the England and Wales area . We are a registered charity (no.1194929), and our purpose is to provide back-up personnel to the emergency services and local authorities in a range of situations. Our trained and uniformed volunteers fall within one of our three sections - Community Emergency Volunteer Unit - Our core operations - National Emergency Resilience Support Unit - Our specialist nationalised teams who support our local Community Emergency Volunteers - Headquarters - Non-operational teams that ensure CAVRA operations are running correctly, where this role will fall in to.

What will you be doing?
Trustees are responsible for the leadership of CAVRA, including ensuring the charity is carrying out its mandate, managing resources responsibly, and complying with legal requirements. The management team reports to the board of trustees and executes its decisions. This role involves participating in board meetings, advising on key decisions, and supporting the organisation’s mission. The Board Trustee position is remote. Skills We're Seeking Strategic planning and decision-making skills Experience in charity governance and oversight Fundraising Communications and marketing Contract Voluntary Role, no allowances Commitment 1 hours per week Location Virtual Reports to Board of Trustees Main Requirements Passion for volunteering and charity engagement Reliable attendance and active participation at monthly SLT meetings over MS Teams (2 hours each) and ability to commit approx. 1 hour a week to the charity. Join all trustees in making an annual personal financial contribution at a level that is meaningful to me; and participate in fundraising, advocacy and stewardship activities for CAVRA. Stay informed about CAVRA's activities and policies to be able to uphold their practice and work in good faith with staff and other board members as partners toward CAVRA achieving its purposes. Learn more about the general entrepreneurship support and investment ecosystem, interpreting the needs and values of other actors and speaking out for their interests and holding CAVRA accountable towards its altruistic vision. Champion CAVRA and represent its work and values to stakeholder groups and communities, inviting others to get involved.
