Volunteer Social Media Content Creator for Accessible Video Gaming Charity | Everyone Can

Everyone Can

Date: 3 weeks ago
City: Sale
Contract type: Full time
We're looking for someone to create content about the unique and innovative work we do with video game accessibility, and to publish it to our social channels.

What difference will you make?

With your help, we can continue to change the lives of so many disabled people and their families for the better. Everyone, from the disabled community to the gaming community, from specialist disability schools to the games industry love what we do and how we do it. However, although we are not short of plaudits from companies such as Google and dignitaries such as the Mayor of Greater Manchester, we are short of funds and therefor staff. We change lives for the better, but we need help to continue to do this. Good work can often go unnoticed. We hope you are the person who can help us to spread the word about the amazing work we do for disabled people with technology and video gaming.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who can take a journalistic approach and extract the relevant information from our team as they attend our gaming sessions and convert this into tailored posts for social media. Ideally, this person will have experience in journalism or research, content creation and scheduling social media posts.

What will you be doing?

Gaming is a lifeline for disabled individuals seeking social connection, mental well-being, and independence. We are experts in adaptive technology and provide accessible gaming solutions, workshops and tailored support to help gamers of all abilities experience the joy of play. Our services are built on innovation and are unique in many ways - trailblazers in both what we do and how we do it. But, our staff's skills lay outside of content creation and social media. We require a person who can bridge the gap between understanding what we do, and effectively communicating this through our social channels. The volunteer will work with our Communications manager and will be given full support by staff whenever needed. Although this is a role that can be carried out remotely, ideally the volunteer will be able to attend some of our regular gaming sessions at our gaming centre in Sale in order to see, and join in with what we do. For example, a volunteer could attend a gaming session one week in order to produce ideas for content, then the week after, they could volunteer remotely converting these ideas into content for scheduled posts.
