BioSci Toolkit empowers students—especially from Black, mixed, and underserved ethnic communities—to thrive in bioscience. We’re seeking a creative and proactive Social Media & Digital Marketing Officer to join us remotely on a voluntary basis.
What difference will you make?
As our Social Media and Digital Marketing Officer, you can significantly boost the visibility and reach of our science education CIC by creating engaging content, promoting events, and growing online communities. Your work will help attract students, teachers/careers advisors, partners, and supporters, amplifying the organisation’s mission and making science more accessible to underrepresented groups.
What are we looking for?
Essential Criteria Experience managing social media accounts for an organisation, project, or campaign Proficiency in using social media management tools (e.g., Buffer, Hootsuite, Later) Strong written communication skills with a flair for engaging content creation Ability to work independently, creatively and manage time effectively Understanding of basic graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Express) A commitment to the mission and values of the organisation i.e. inclusion and accessibility to science education and opportunities. Desirable Criteria Knowledge of SEO and website management (e.g., GoDaddy) Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Substack) Ability to create or edit short-form videos for platforms like Instagram Reels or TikTok Familiarity with analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Meta Insights) Background or interest in [education, youth engagement, community development

This is a remote position ideal for someone passionate about digital engagement and social impact, looking to contribute their skills in a flexible role. You'll play a key part in shaping our online presence and helping to build meaningful connections with our audiences. Key responsibilities Develop and schedule engaging content across social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Tik Tok and LinkedIn) Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and interactions to encourage community engagement and community building Design and implement digital marketing campaigns to promote awareness, events, and initiatives Analyse social media and website metrics to assess performance and suggest improvements Manage our monthly email newsletters using Mailchimp Collaborate with other team members to support wider communication goals
