Volunteer Learning and Development Manager | Catalyst Support

You will play a key role in shaping and guiding the charity’s approach to learning and development. You will focus on building organisational capability, supporting employee growth, and continuous learning as well as providing strategic direction.

What are we looking for?

Skills and Experience Essential

• Proven experience in a senior learning and development position.
• Strong understanding and experience of training needs analysis, programme design, and evaluation.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
• Ability to build strong working relationships at all levels.
• Organised, proactive, and able to work independently. Desirable
• Experience of embedding coaching and mentoring within an organisation.
• Experience of working in the charity or not-for-profit sector.
• Knowledge of hybrid and digital learning tools.
• CIPD qualification (or working towards) or equivalent.

Key Responsibilities Shape the L&D Strategy Provide guidance on the organisation’s learning and development strategy, ensuring it enhances employee capability and supports long-term professional growth. Assess Development Needs Carry out a high-level training needs analysis to identify strengths, gaps, and priority development areas. Enable Learning Opportunities Recommend and coordinate suitable learning opportunities (e.g., workshops, external resources, mentoring) that support skill-building and role progression. Design & Facilitate Training Where appropriate, design and/or support the facilitation of in-house training sessions to address priority development needs. Support Career Pathways Work with the People & Culture Manager and line managers to design career development pathways and embed a coaching approach across teams. Promote a Learning Culture Encourage continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and mentoring practices across the charity. Advice on Learning Tools Review the current learning platform and provide recommendations. Measure Impact Support the monitoring and reporting of learning and development initiatives, ensuring they contribute to employee capability and individual growth.
