We are looking for a Trustee with HR (Human Resources) experience to help us improve our way of working as a Board.This is important because our charity now has more staff and volunteers.
What difference will you make?
You help shape our future - Trustees help set the charity’s direction and make sure it stays focused on its mission. You make sure funds are used wisely and that our charity stays financially healthy. You keep things safe and legal - Trustees make sure the charity follows the rules and manages risks properly. You will bring fresh ideas - Your experience and perspective will help the charity make better decisions. You make a real difference - Everything you do helps the charity support more people and create more impact.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for people who are kind, respectful and dedicated to supporting our diverse board of Trustees. Experience needed for HR Trustee - Experience working in a Human Resources role.- Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) qualification or working towards.- Good current knowledge of employment law, policy and practice and ability to keep up to date with developments inHuman Resources You will find a full role and person specification within our candidate pack attached on this page.

Our Board is exciting and special because it has a mixture of people with and without a learning disability. “Nothing about us without us”! Different people bring special gifts and skills. You do not need to have worked in a Board or governance role, or with people with learning disabilities before – we will teach you everything you need to know and give you training. Our new HR Trustee will help us Make sure that People First Forum’s HR work, follows the law and uses good practices. Look at and suggest plans for how the organisation finds staff now and, in the future, how staff are trained and supported,and how money is planned and spent each year. Keep the board up to date about its HR responsibilities. Make sure there is a long-term plan to look after People First Forum’s staffing needs Make sure that HR work and actions are reflected in People First Forum’s mission and fit well with the charity’s values.
