Help a small charity to improve even more of the community's health and wellbeing through engaging in creative activities, by improving the quality, quantity, size and success rate of our funding applications.
What difference will you make?
Our small charity aims to make a big difference to local community's mental health and wellbeing by engaging them in affordable creative activities. An experienced grant writer will help us increase our income by identifying more funding opportunities and applying for them increasing our success rate helping us secure funding that is for a longer term and for a larger amount than now giving us the confidence to aim higher in our funding bids in order to fund our growth and sustainability plans
What are we looking for?
We are looking for a volunteer who can write successful funding bids research funding opportunities identify suitable funding targets demonstrate excellent written and financial skills work remotely and as part of a team make plans, forecasts, and budgets, keep them up to date and report on them help develop a fundraising strategy understand the needs of the charity and of the funder and create bids that satisfy both
What will you be doing?
You will be working closely with the Chair of the Trustees, who has been writing funding bids for over 10 years. We are keen to share the responsibility for grant writing and to involve someone with professional experience with a view to them eventually taking over as a supported leader grant writer. Work with trustees, activity leaders and service users to identify business as usual and developmental funding needs. Research possible sources of funding and identify eligible and suitable funding sources. Produce a funding timetable, showing when funds open for application, close for application and decision dates. Schedule in with this when work should start on each application Produce a funding budget and forecast, identifying where, when and how much funding is needed, together with the forecast sources of that funding. Write and submit funding bids. Report of spend and impact of funding according to the needs of the funder and the trustees.
