What will you be doing?

Mary Elliot Academy is a special school for students aged 11-18 with severe and profound complex learning difficulties. The School has state of the art facilities and offers educational accommodation which is second to none. The two-storey building is set within large grounds which are used for all aspects of learning outside the classroom. Every classroom is spacious and light and we have specialist rooms for Food Technology and ICT. We have our own Hydrotherapy pool Multi-sensory rooms Medical Suite, including complementary therapy room Specialist Hygiene rooms for personal care Library Sports Hall which incorporates a climbing wall and dance studio facilities. We are seeking a Governor with Safeguarding experience to join our SEN Academy. Local Governing Boards (LGBs) are part of the trust governance structure and can Support effective Trust operations and policies Provide support and challenge to Headteachers Foster engagement with parents and the community Bring attention to issues and risks for Trust board consideration Provide feedback to improve policies in the local context Ensure equal treatment of all schools within the Trust
