Help us develop and deliver our fundraising strategy, covering some, any or all of high-net-worth individual philanthropy, trust and grant funding, corporate funding/partnerships and individual giving platforms in particular.
What difference will you make?
Your input will shape how we present ourselves to different funder audiences. ‘Nature poverty’ is increasingly recognised as a scourge of urban life and in particular those already most marginalised communities, with significant health impacts. With every pound you help us raise you will be improving lives on both a personal/local scale and in terms of addressing the global biodiversity and climate crises. With your help we will be able to continue to expand our programme of ‘hub’ site community engagement and habitat building activities. You will also help us leverage essential further funding and contribute to the public conversation about nature-derived health & wellbeing and the contribution towns and cities can make to tackling the biodiversity and climate crises.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for a volunteer who has experience Writing and editing content for funding documents including web pages, case-for-support documents, grant proposals and fundraising platforms Keeping great records of engagement and communications with funders across the range of funding audience types The volunteer should also have Accuracy and attention to detail The ability to quickly understand the needs of our team, organisation and users The ability and confidence to ask key questions to enable us to clarify requirements An understanding of the resource constraints of a small charity, and willingness to work with these An open and relaxed approach to giving and receiving feedback Ideally an interest in and passion for urban nature and nature-derived health and wellbeing
What will you be doing?
Natural Neighbours delivers advice, resources, support and a connecting platform to urban communities wanting to collaborate to create networks of habitat for health-giving wildlife. We are particularly focussed on those most socially, economically and racially marginalised of communities. We are urgently looking for an experienced fundraiser to work with us as our fledgling charity moves into delivery mode. This means we’re recruiting volunteers to build habitat on our ‘hub’ project sites. It means supporting app users to extend the habitat creation into their private outdoor spaces. And, it means building partnerships that will enable us to connect more of the most nature-deprived people in particular with nature and each other under the common cause of enriching their neighbourhoods with wildlife. If you agree this is all worth delivering, please come and help us fund it! We would like the volunteer to Help us develop and deliver fundraising for the remainder our pilot site locations in Hackney, East London, and onwards and outwards to our ensuing programme of activities as we expand both geographically and in terms of our contribution to public understanding of nature-derived health & wellbeing In helping deliver fundraising activities, take on a significant role in researching, drafting, submitting and tracking grant applications, building and managing ethical corporate partnerships, developing and supporting our network of high-net-worth philanthropic supporters setting up and administering mass giving platforms that engage large audiences with supporting our work. Engage with our funders, providing feedback on the impact of their investments and inspiring them to get involved, spread the word and continue supporting us with donations Contribute to a well-structured, GDPR etc compliant and efficient system of contacts record management with regard to our funders. You will be working with the director, relevant trustee/s and other volunteers as part of our Finance, Fundraising and Volunteering working group which will provide an overview of our existing fundraising approach.
