Volunteer Coordinator
Acorns Children's Hospice

Acorns Children’s Hospice Trust is looking for a Volunteer Coordinator to recruit, onboard, and support volunteers, while working with stakeholders to identify new opportunities and areas of need. This role is available on a full-time basis (37.5 hours per week) and is based at our Three Counties Hospice
About the Role
Acorns Children's Hospice is a charity providing specialist palliative care and support for children and their families. Each year, we support over 750 children and nearly 1,000 families, including those who are bereaved. Volunteers are at the heart of our work, and this role is key to ensuring they are integrated into our services and supported in their roles.
As Volunteer Coordinator, you’ll work closely with Care, Facilities, and Admin teams to identify volunteer needs and develop meaningful roles. You’ll coordinate recruitment, onboarding, and induction, and maintain strong relationships with volunteers to ensure they feel engaged, valued and empowered. You’ll also help contribute to the delivery of the care strategy at Acorns.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is passionate about volunteering and who:
- Has experience supervising volunteers
- Is proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Brings experience from the voluntary or charity sector
- Has the ability to build strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
- Has the ability to travel independently across the Acorns area
