As a Lead Internal Auditor, you will be responsible for overseeing and delivering comprehensive, risk-based audits to support the organisation’s objectives while fostering strong relationships with senior leaders and driving continuous improvement in audit processes.
Your core responsibilities as Lead Internal Auditor encompass leading and delivering thorough, risk-based audits that align with the organisation’s objectives, processes and requirements. You will be expected to conduct audit activities, working independently but with some guidance by more senior team members, and maintain effective relationships with senior leaders. Additionally, it will be your duty to identify and document audit issues, present insightful findings, and contribute to continuous improvement in audit processes, ensuring the highest standards of governance and operational efficiency are upheld throughout the business.

- Plan and execute risk-based financial, operational and compliance audit testing against detailed plan and audit program (whilst expected to work independently, regular supervision by more senior team members will be provided).
- Develop good rapport and solid business relationships with business unit and HQ personnel to ensure understanding and acceptance of internal audit requirements, approach and reporting methods.
- Identify, develop, and document audit issues and recommendations using independent judgment concerning areas being reviewed.
- Provide insightful results through the audit reporting process.
- Incorporate the use of data analytics within the audit approach to increase the extent of assurance, quality of insight, and efficiency of our audits. Recommend and implement ideas for improving the Internal Audit Department.
- Excellent communication, report writing, presentation, negotiation and conflict management skills to interact effectively with senior management.
- Ability to think analytically, creatively and independently.
- Strong organisational skills.
- ‘Digital’ skills, i.e. fluent in working with audit software and the Microsoft Office365 suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.)
- Willing to travel when required.
- Bachelor or Masters in Business Administration, finance or law or related qualifications (or working towards) relevant accounting (ACA, CIMA) or audit qualifications (IIA).
