This is a Maternity Cover position, and the salary is dependent on experience, plus benefits.
We are happy to discuss relocation allowance to candidates moving to the area, along with visa costs can be supported.
We are recruiting for a full-time experienced Veterinary Surgeon for our busy, progressive first opinion practice in the lovely market town of Morpeth.
We are a friendly, supportive team that works hard and plays harder. Regular nights out, ice-cream and cake rounds…it's a great place to work!

As a Veterinary Surgeon within our Group at Alnorthumbria, there is the opportunity to progress in whatever field interests you, supported by certificate holders in surgery, dermatology and ECC.
Our own dedicated out of hours night team means no night work. We have a shared rota of weekend days and Saturday mornings. This allows plenty of time to enjoy the nearby coasts and hills that Northumberland has to offer. Whether you want to paddleboard, go hill walking, or have a night out in nearby Newcastle, there is something for everyone.
What are we looking for?
We offer a competitive salary, based on experience.
Shift pattern: This is a 4-day-a-week full-time role covering 40 hours or we would consider these hours over 5 days. You'll also need to be able to work across several sites in Alnorthumbria if necessary.

- A Veterinary Surgeon with at least 2 years of experience
- Strong communication and time management skills in emergencies
- Confident in consults and surgery, with a solid caseload and the ability to perform all routine GP operations
- Proactive and a team player
- Customer-focused approach is essential
